THE AMBROSIAN CARNIVAL
The Carnival arrival in Milan is belated, where there is an ambrosian rite, on the majority of the Diocese’s churches of Milan and some others nearby, they celebrate the Carnival until the Saturday, 4 days after the rest of Italy where the observed rite is the Roman’s. As the legend tells us, the origin of this ritual has been claimed by Sant’Ambrogio, who while finding himself far from Milan asked the population to wait for him to initiate the Lent celebration.
S.TECLA CATHEDRAL
It is part of the Roman ruins, revealed under Milan’s Dome. Built in IV century, with the name of Maior, it was then rediscovered between 1961 and 1962. You can access to the complex, 4 ms from the Dome level (under the ‘Duomo’ metropolitan stop) through a stair at the cathedral’s entrance.
THE TEA PALACE
The Tea Palace, in Mantova, is one of the most celebrative works of the architect Giulio Romano, built between 1525 and 1534 under Federico Gonzaga, the 2nd’s willing in his lover, Isabella Boschetti’s honor. Tea Palace was a glorious suburbian mansion, designed for parties, leisure and receptions of the Gonzaga’s Court. Today the Palace is the Civic Museum and International arts and cultural Tea Palace’ domicile, reason why it is the main centre for art exhibitions.
